OUR HERITAGE

“Every Project begins with a Passion”

“Every Passion needs Time and Dedication”

“Time and Dedication offers Experience”

Rooted in Gibraltar. Built on Legacy. Sustained by Trust.

At Homeworx Ltd, building isn’t just our trade — it’s our heritage. Our story began not on paper, but on dusty construction sites, workshop floors, and family dinner tables where generations of builders shared knowledge and ambition. Our founder’s journey began as a boy, helping his father — a passionate, hands-on craftsman — with small jobs that would grow into a lifelong passion for creating spaces with meaning. That same motorbike that his father rode still sits proudly in our collection, a symbol of hard work and pride in our craft.

Our Heritage and Lifelong Commitment

As dedicated investors in Gibraltar’s architectural legacy, one of our key aims is to inspire individuals, communities, organisations, and local businesses to take pride in the heritage that surrounds us. We encourage ongoing dialogue about how best to preserve and adapt this shared legacy so that future generations can continue to enjoy it.

For the building community, the Gibraltar Heritage Trust plays an essential role in supporting the respectful restoration of older properties — advising on both external character and equally important interior features. The Trust also welcomes early collaboration with developers to help shape well-scaled, thoughtful projects from the concept stage, fostering positive cooperation between the Trust, developers, and industry professionals alike.

A Legacy Built on Experience

The founder of Homeworx Ltd comes from a proud family tradition of building and maintenance. His journey began at just 12 years old, working alongside his father, a skilled electrician. At 15, he enrolled in and completed a four-year apprenticeship in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering — a foundation that would shape his future in construction and technical services. Soon after qualifying, he contributed to the refitting of naval vessels involved in the Falklands conflict, gaining valuable hands-on experience during a critical moment in history. At just 22, he joined the Admiralty Fire Service, all while continuing to apply his skills in building maintenance. Over time, he took on full responsibility for the upkeep of several local properties, cementing his reputation for reliability and deep technical know-how.

The Start of Building Experience

Over the years’ and experienced in many working environments, the first major project came by at the age of 28 organised to extend and develop a top floor property, converting this into a duplex 4-bedroom apartment with terrace.

In his early 30s he undertook the building of a 3-bedroom detached Vila with swimming pool and gardens, this Vila was to be his own home for a few years to come.

Aside from his deep roots in the Building Trade

The founder’s early years were shaped by hands-on experience, technical training, and a commitment to practical skills. At just 12 years old, he began assisting his father, a professional electrician — laying the foundation for a lifelong connection to craftsmanship and service.

By 15, he had enrolled in and completed a four-year apprenticeship in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Soon after qualifying, he contributed to the refitting of naval vessels during the Falklands conflict, gaining valuable experience under pressure. At 22, he joined the Admiralty Fire Service, all while continuing to take on private maintenance work — eventually assuming full responsibility for several local buildings and their ongoing upkeep.

A new horizon of Online Virtual Reality had just emerged.

Innovation in Virtual Viewing

Embracing emerging online technology, he dedicated several years to pioneering a new way of showcasing Gibraltar. After a significant investment in virtual-tour equipment, he launched a website that presented every major tourist site in Gibraltar through immersive, 360-degree experiences. It was called GIBTOUR.COM.

Working with a powered-glider pilot, he even added aerial views, allowing visitors to select an attraction from the sky and then “walk” through it from the comfort of their own sofa. This became Gibraltar’s first true Virtual Street Viewer—years before today’s familiar street-view platforms.

As virtual-viewing technology gained popularity, he pivoted to property promotion, producing numerous home tours and paving the way for his eventual return to full-scale property development.

Homeworx — our enduring brand promise

In 2005 the opportunity arose for the move back to property developments, a few years later the launch of the company and then to become what is Homeworx Ltd today.

A well-established real estate and development Company

Operating across Gibraltar and Spain a developer offered him a partnership to take charge of their construction division. This joint venture proved to be an eye-opening introduction to the property sector at a pivotal time. With his background in the building trade and a sharp understanding of the growing property market, he made the decision to form his own company.

He registered Homeworx, and began operating independently as a developer. The company quickly earned a reputation for quality in all areas of construction — from structural works and façade restoration to specialist installations and interior design. Homeworx became particularly well-known for its expertise in refurbishing older buildings and driving forward urban renewal projects.

His first full-scale development came with the backing of NatWest Bank: the transformation of a severely derelict building into three stylish one- and two-bedroom apartments, including a new two-storey penthouse within the roof space.

Successful project Off Plan

The Castle Rooftop Gardens project was an idea from his experience enjoying the private outside space, this possibility was an almost impossible feature within Gibraltar’s town centre. The combination of roof terrace and living accommodation produced 5 top floor luxury, fully fitted and furnished apartment, with all the advantages. An individual interior staircase led up to private rooftop terrace with incredible views. This very innovative project targeted the lack of these types of apartments in Gibraltar, an affordable accommodation with outside space within the town centre was to mark a new era and a very sought-after urban renewal development. The project coincidentally became extra popular due to Covid 19 and the development was completed in 2021 through the pandemic and the restrictions at the time. The high demand and popularity rocketed the prices on the resale market, eventually turning over a 40% return for the Off Plan purchaser.
